Lostprophets are giving fans the unique opportunity to add to their setlist at November’s sold out Warped Tour UK. There are five songs to choose from viatext vote (with proceeds going to Teenage Cancer Trust). The song with the highest number of votes will be performed by the band as they close Warped Tour UK on Saturday 10thNovember at North London’s iconic
Alexandra Palace. The performance will be filmed exclusively by Punktastic and hosted on the site for fans to watch, so everyone can vote for their favourite.

The song options include ‘Lucky You’, which the band have only played once back in 2004 and ‘Broken Hearts…’ which was last performed live in 2008. Guitarist Mike Lewis says: “All of the songs we picked – some of them we’ve only played once or twice live over the past 12 years – they’re tracks that a lot of people ask us to play. We figured it would be a big deal for us to choose these because it’s finally giving our fans the chance to dictate which one they truly want to hear most. Teenage Cancer Trust is such an amazing charity. Everyone in the band has had someone close to them deal with a cancer-related tragedy at some point, so it’s a cause that’s really important to us. We’re happy to support it in whatever way we can.”

The full song listings and text numbers are as follows:
LPS01 – Lucky You
LPS02 – Darkest Blue
LPS03 – Broken Hearts, Torn Up Letters and the Story of a Lonely Girl
LPS04 – A Million Miles
LPS05 – Weapon

I have a feeling it’s only available in the UK.

Welsh rockers Lostprophets will take centre stage in Cardiff this summer – performing to a packed Millennium Stadium ahead of Wales v South Africa on Saturday, 5 June.
The rock sextet, formed in Pontypridd in 1997, will add their voices to the thousands of fans in support of Warren Gatland’s Wales at the 74,500 capacity national stadium when they take on the World Champions in the Principality Building Society Summer Test.

The band’s guitarist, and huge rugby fan, Mike Lewis said: “We’re very honoured to be asked by the WRU and the Welsh team to play before the South Africa match. I grew up playing and watching rugby and it means the world to be the first band to be invited to play before an international match at the Millennium Stadium.

“I was at the Stadium the last time Wales played South Africa and we came so close to beating them hopefully this time we can do it. We’ll do our best to get the crowd fired up before the boys come out and do the business!”

The band are set to perform three songs ahead of Wales’ sizzling summer clash with the Springboks and have promised to include one song in particular, from their fourth album ‘The Betrayed’ which entered the UK album charts at No. 3 in January.

“‘Where We Belong’ seems to have become a favourite at games recently. Wales was definitely in our hearts’ and minds’ when we wrote that song so for it to have been embraced by the national team is a great honour,” Mike said.

WRU head of sales and marketing Craig Maxwell is looking forward to rewarding the loyal rugby fans who have supported their nation this season with a day out to remember, thanks to the earlier kick-off time of 2.30pm.

“We want to create a fantastic carnival atmosphere at the Millennium Stadium to thank all the fans who have turned up in their droves throughout the season in all weathers and at varying kick-off times,” said Craig.

“A traditional Saturday afternoon kick-off allows us to do something a little different and I’m confident that we will put on a great show for fans at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday, 5 June.”

Tickets for the Principality Building Society Summer Test (which includes the exclusive performance from the famous Welsh rock band) are currently on public sale priced from £25 at the WRU’s Cardiff Arms Store (No 8 Westgate Street, Cardiff); via Ticketmaster (tel 08442 777888, www.ticketmaster.co.uk), Ticketline (02920 230130, www.ticketlineuk.com) and via the WRU Official Website www.wru.co.uk/tickets.

WRU hospitality packages can be snapped up from £119 for the ‘SA Gold’ package and £139 for the brand new ‘Springbox Suite’, added due to popular demand. All hospitality information can be found at www.millenniumstadium.com.
